Dance Of The Trees
A handmade original linocut and etching print trees ‘dancing’ in the Spring light.

Old trees, new leaves, the light bright green of Spring. As the limbs of the trees have grown and bent into shapes, they remind me of dancers holding a pose. With each new Spring comes another season of growth, extending the dance more and more each year.
This print was created by layering etching plates and linocut plates, two of each. The first was the sunlight which, if you look closely, includes the rays coming down through the trees. The second and third are linocut plates which were partly wiped away when inked. One gives the suggestion of new foliage on the trees, the other gives the shape to the trunks and limbs. The last plate was another etching plate which brings the detail and texture to the trees.
The inks used for this print are Akua etching inks and Caligo Safewash inks which are oil based inks with high lightfast properties.
The paper is Somerset Satin 250gsm printmaking paper.
Each print is inked and printed by hand. On each layer ink is wiped away after the plate has been loaded. There will be slight variations between each print due to the way they are inked, though these are only slight, and each print is in it’s own way an original.
Colours may appear slightly differently on screen to the actual print.
Handmade Prints
These prints are all handmade and as such there can be slight variations in the prints in an edition, though these are very slight. It means that each print in an edition is unique and is an original in it’s own right.
Varied Editions (VE)
Prints that are marked VE by the edition number are part of a varied edition. This means there are enough difference between the prints that they are sold by their individual number.
Please bear in mind that although I take every care to photograph the prints as faithfully as possible there can also be variations in colour between what you view on a screen and the original print.
Delivery
Postage is either First Class or First Class signed for in the UK.
Prints are sent tracked and signed for to the rest of the world.

Sending Your Prints
Unmounted Prints
Smaller prints are sent in a flat, card backed envelopes, cardboard reinforced package or in a postal tube.
All larger unmounted prints are sent in a rigid cardboard tube to arrived safely with you. Prints sent in a tube will need to be carefully unrolled and flattened out.
Mounted Prints
Smaller mounted prints will be sent in a card backed envelope with additional padding to prevent damage. Larger mounted prints are packed between sheets of thick card and then wrapped in paper to protect them.
Framed Print
Only available for UK delivery. Wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed. Courier delivery.
