A handmade limited edition (50) of dandelion clocks under the light of a full moon..
This print is a multi block linocut. It was created using three separate blocks printed one of top of the other to complete the final image.
Originally inspired by a swathe of dandelions on a wide roadside verge. This print is another one where I’m thinking about time. Remembering dandelion clocks as a child got me considering nature’s clocks and the notion of time that we had prior to devices that we carry on our wrists or hang on our walls. The sun gives us day and night and the length of each day changes throughout the year, but the moon divides the year into thirteen phases, each moon with its own name. Here the full moon shines upon the clocks, no longer on a roadside verge but out in the fields. There is no human intervention here, they could be clocks of the past, present or future, you decide.
The inks used for this print are Schmincke Aqua Linoldruck inks which are water based inks with a lovely matt finish and high lightfast properties.
The paper is Fabriano Unica 250gsm printmaking paper.
As each print is inked and printed by hand there will be slight variations between each print, each one is in it’s own way an original.
Colours may appear slightly differently on screen to the actual print.
Framing – prints framed in a plain black frame can be ordered if I have frames in stock (UK only). If you would like to order a framed copy of this print please contact me for availability and price.
