A handmade two stage linocut print.
Only two available. I’m likely to print more of these at some point but I don’t know if and when. The rainbow roll that gives the colour around the moon is not an easy one!

This is a two stage print where the first layer is a simple jigsaw with a tricky rainbow roll. The second layer carries all the detail and is printed in black.

The pull of the moon and its effects on water has long been a bit of a fascination to me. It’s pull on water is well known and the human body is apparently up to 60% water. Some say we can feel the pull and there is a certain something that is rather alluring about the full moon. The moon is represented here in the feminine form with the crescents either side adding to the full moon representing the three main stages of female life, maid, mother and crone.
Here the seas reach toward the moon, unable to resist her call.

The inks used for this print are Schmincke Aqua-Linoldruck which are water soluble inks with high lightfast properties.
The paper is Daler-Rowney Canford Ice White 150gsm.

As each print is inked and printed by hand there will be slight variations between each print, each one is in it’s own way an original.
Colours may appear slightly differently on a computer screen to the actual print.

Handmade Prints

These prints are all handmade and as such there can be slight variations in the prints in an edition, though these are very slight. It means that each print in an edition is unique and is an original in it’s own right.

Varied Editions (VE)

Prints that are marked VE by the edition number are part of a varied edition. This means there are enough difference between the prints that they are sold by their individual number.

Please bear in mind that although I take every care to photograph the prints as faithfully as possible there can also be variations in colour between what you view on a screen and the original print.

Delivery

Postage is either First Class or First Class signed for in the UK.

Prints are sent tracked and signed for to the rest of the world.

Sending Your Prints

Unmounted Prints

Smaller prints are sent in a flat, card backed envelopes, cardboard reinforced package or in a postal tube.

All larger unmounted prints are sent in a rigid cardboard tube to arrived safely with you. Prints sent in a tube will need to be carefully unrolled and flattened out.

Mounted Prints

Smaller mounted prints will be sent in a card backed envelope with additional padding to prevent damage. Larger mounted prints are packed between sheets of thick card and then wrapped in paper to protect them.
